Mixed Start, Futures Trading Close To Unchanged

JGB futures have pared their overnight gains in early Tokyo dealing to last print +5, as the pre-BoJ volatility continues. Meanwhile, cash JGBs operate either side of unchanged, with a lack of uniform movement across the curve. Swap rates are little changed across the curve, dealing either side of flat.

  • Local headline flow has been subdued, outside of the previously covered RTRS sources piece which noted that “the Japanese government is likely to present its nominees for the next central bank governor and two Bank of Japan deputy governors on February 10.”
