Per Jansson, who has been one of the most dovish members of the policy making Riksbank Executive Board recently, has been given a six year extension to his term in office, taking him through to December 2027, the central bank confirmed Friday.

Jansson has in recent comments said that the central bank could cut the policy rate as low as -1.0% if needed, while arguing strongly against tightening policy, saying in the June minutes that "Despite the recovery being clear and appearing to be strong, the risk of the economy overheating is very small."
