MNI: The BOJ Is Watching Evergrande Impact On Markets-Kuroda

Bank of Japan Governor Haruhiko Kuroda said on Wednesday that the central bank is carefully monitoring developments of Chinese property developer China Evergrande Group and its impact on financial markets.

Kuroda told reporters that market players are sensitive to reports about the company and its ability to make debt repayments.

"There is a view that the Chinese economy is slowing," Kuroda told reporters after the latest BOJ policy review. "But the foundation of the economy is solid. I think we don't need to have the view that the economies in the U.S. and China will slow and overseas demand will fall."
