MNI POLICY: BOJ Increases Scale of Buying of JGBs

TOKYO (MNI) - The Bank of Japan Tuesday increased the scale of its
purchases of Japanese government bonds with tenors of 1 to 3 years, 3 to 5 years
and 5 to 10 years.
The scale of JGB buying in the three different tenors was increased to
JPY340 billion, JPY300 billion and JPY370 billion, from respective previous
purchases of JPY320 billion, JPY280 billion and JPY350 billion.
The BOJ board on Monday pledged to buy JGBs as needed and without a limit,
not only to stabilize the financial markets but also to maintain the yield curve
at low levels.
