MNI POLICY: BOJ Nagoya Head Promoted to Executive Director

     TOKYO (MNI) - Tokiko Shimizu, manager of the Bank of Japan's Nagoya branch,
has been promoted to be one of the central bank's six executive directors.
     Shimizu is the first woman to be promoted to the position of BOJ executive
director and will hold the post the Nagoya branch manager position concurrently.
     Shimizu general manager for Europe and chief representative in London from
July 2016 to April 2018 before becoming the Nagoya branch head.
     The four-year term of Eiji Maeda, the executive director in charge of
monetary policy, ended on Sunday.
     Shinichi Uchida, previously in charge of international affairs, took charge
of monetary policy.
