MNI POLICY: China Cuts Import Tariffs On Pork, Semiconductors

     BEIJING (MNI) - China will reduce Most Favourite Nations tariff rates next
year temporarily on over 850 products to optimize trade and promote economic
growth, according to a statement on the Ministry of Finance website on Monday.
     Products that will have tariffs cut include frozen pork, frozen avocados,
and non-frozen orange juice and other consumer goods with domestic shortages,
the ministry said. 
     China will also reduce tariffs on specified high-tech products include
semiconductors, the ministry said
     Lowering the tariffs will benefit trading partners including New Zealand,
Peru, Singapore and Australia, the ministry said.
