- US President Joe Biden hinted at major policy changes towards Israel after a thirty-minute call with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu yesterday. He warned that US policy "with respect to Gaza" would be determined by Israel's compliance with a raft of measures to reduce civilian harm.
- Biden also called for an “immediate ceasefire” without explicitly linking it to an exchange of hostages for the first time and urged Netanyahu to “empower his negotiators to conclude a deal without delay to bring the hostages home,” appearing to indicate that the Israeli PM may be an obstacle to ceasefire/hostage exchange talks.
