NATO Foreign Ministerial Kicks Off Tomorrow With Finland Ceremony

Finland will be formally welcomed into the NATO alliance tomorrow with a ceremony at NATO HQ in Brussels, Belgium on day one of the NATO foreign ministerial.

  • NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said: "We will raise the Finnish flag for the first time here at NATO headquarters. It will be a good day for Finland's security, for Nordic security and for NATO as a whole. Sweden will also be safer as a result."
  • According to a NATO statement, ministers will address, "Russia’s illegal war against Ukraine... agree to start work on developing a multi-year programme of support... discuss threats and challenges from the South... and China’s growing alignment with Russia."
