- 'Plan C' refers to putative plan to ban household mixing once again in an attempt to drive COVID-19 infections downwards. 'Plan B' would involve the reintroduction of mandates on wearing face masks, vaccine passports for entry to large events, and a recommendation to work from home full time if possible.
- The UK has recorded over 40,000 new cases per day for the past seven days, the second-highest number of new cases in that period behind only the US.
