A number of recent surveys have found that a strong majority of US voters are concerned that Biden’s age may affect his ability to perform his duties for a second term.
- An NBC News poll released last week found that 70% of adults believe Biden shouldn't run again, with 69% citing age is a factor.
- A YouGov poll finds 68% registered voter say President Biden is "too old for another term."
- A Reuters/IPSOS poll found that around 50% of Democrats believe Biden is too old to run.
- Axios notes: “It's already an issue in the 2024 campaign, with some Republicans bluntly saying Biden might not live through a second term.”
- Republican candidate Nikki Haley said this week: "The idea that he would make it until 86 years old is not something that I think is likely."
- Axios: “The White House rarely puts Biden in improvisational settings.. Biden's close advisers say he's mentally sharp. But even some of them concede his age has diminished his energy, significantly limiting his schedule.”
