US President Joe Biden is shortly due to take to the stage in Valley Forge, Pennsylvania to deliver his first speech of his 2024 presidential election campaign. LIVESTREAM

• The remarks, original scheduled for tomorrow, will mark the anniversary of the January 6, 2021 attack on the United States Capitol and focus on former President Donald Trump's alleged role in inciting the insurrection, and warn that a second Trump term would entail risk to US democracy.
• Biden deputy campaign manager Quentin Fulks told reporters: “The president will make the case directly that democracy and freedom — two powerful ideas that united the 13 colonies and that generations throughout our nation’s history have fought and died for a stone’s throw from where he will be — remain central to the fight we’re in today.”
• Biden's campaign has also released a new adwarning that Trump represents, “an extremist movement that does not share the basic beliefs in our democracy.”
• Politico notes: "The content of the speech will be studied carefully by Democratic strategists who are in the middle of the same electoral debate they had in 2022: Should the party emphasize Jan. 6 and the threat to democratic norms, or should it focus on traditional policy issues?"
