Free AccessPresident Biden To Deliver Remarks On The Economy
US President Joe Biden is shortly due to take to the stage in Maryland to deliver his first message on the economy since shaking up his team of advisors.
- Livestream: https://www.whitehouse.gov/live/
- Biden will argue that his economic plan will reduce the deficit by an additional USD$2 trillion and contrast it with Republican spending cuts which the White House believes will add USD$3 trillion in debt.
- Biden will also continue to tout the successes of his first two years in office and argue that his legislative achievements will develop infrastructure and create high paying jobs in manufacturing.
- Axios reports that outgoing NEC Director, Brian Deese’s departure will leave, “an enormous hole to fill inside the West Wing.”
- Deese was instrumental in delivering Senator Joe Manchin’s (D-WV) vote on the Inflation Reduction Act and introduced the new policy drive to ban “junk fees.”
- Incoming Director, Fed Vice Chair Lael Brainard, may lack some of Deese’s finer political skills but will bring a sharper macro edge to Biden’s team and offer a direct link with the Treasury Department from her time as Under Secretary for International Affairs.
