United Kingdom Prime Minister, Sir Kier Starmer, has announced the first cabinet appointments of his new government. The appointments fall in line with expectations:
- Angela Rayner has been appointed Secretary of State for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities, and will be Deputy Prime Minister.
- Rachel Reeves has been appointed Chancellor of the Exchequer.
