Putin: "Russian Economy Stronger Than Anyone Thought"

  • Putin's comments comes as sources report that the Russian President could hold a meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping in Moscow as soon as next week.
  • Xi may also hold a call with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky as Beijing tries to frame Xi as a neutral mediator in the conflict.
  • Putin's bullish comments may foreshadow messaging from the Kremlin downplaying a lack of progress on the battlefield and highlighting domestic resilience as focus slowly shifts towards looking for a resolution.
  • Putin: "We need to consolidate our society. Only when the enemy sees our society is consolidated will there be success and victory."
