'Red Bloc' Coalition The Most Preferred Option According To Poll

The latest opinion poll from Norstat asking which combination of parties individuals would prefer in gov't following the 13 September election shows the greatest preference for a left-leaning 'red bloc' coalition formed by the centre-left Labour Party (Ap), agrarian localist Centre Party (Sp), and the left-wing Socialist Left Party (SV).

  • Norstat poll, Preferred government: Ap/SV/Sp: 24%, Ap/Sp: 16%, H/FrP: 10%, H/KrF/V: 10%, H/KrF/V/FrP: 10%. Fieldwork: 16-22 August 2021. Sample size: 1,001
  • A two-party Labour-Centre gov't was the second most popular option with 16% support.
  • Three coalitions led by the centre-right Conservative Party (H) each received 10% support from respondents - one with the right-wing populist Progress Party (FrP), one with the centrist Liberals (V) and social conservative Christian Democrats (KrF), and one with Progress, Liberals, and Christian Democrats.
