Republicans Largely "Unphased" By Trump Indictment

US

Ipsos has published a new survey showing that Republicans are unphased by Former President Donald Trump's legal troubles.

  • Ipsos: “More than two in five Republicans support him for the nomination, and three-quarters say that the charges have no impact or make it more likely that they will support Trump in the 2024 presidential election.
  • "The poll also shows that half of Americans believe the charges are politically motivated, but they also say the circumstances around the charges are believable.”
  • Former President Donald Trump was arraigned yesterday on federal charges relating to the improper storage of classified government materials. Trump pled not guilty to all of the 37 charges.
  • A trial is likely months away, with Trump's legal team expected to push to delay the trial until after the 2024 presidential election.
