Germany remains one of the most dovish nations in the EU with regards to maintaining strong economic and investment links with China. Scholz set to travel to Beijing November 3-4 for his first visit as Chancellor. Fine balancing act for Scholz between being seen as a good ally by the US, which continues to press EU to decouple from Chinese supply chains, while not being viewed as an adversary by Beijing given the significant economic linkages between the two states.
