Snap Election Too Close To Call

The outcome of Denmark’s snap general election, taking place on 1 November, is too close to call, with Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen’s centre-left Social Democrat-led ‘red bloc’ of parties and the opposition centre-right ‘blue bloc’ of parties almost neck-and-neck in opinion polls. The election came about as the centrist Social Liberal Party, which had supported the government, pushed Frederiksen to dissolve the 179-member Folketing (parliament) by threatening a vote of no confidence.
