  • Today will see the biggest gathering of central bank governors for some time with the Riksbank's Symposium on Central Bank Independence the focus. There will be opening remarks from new Riksbank Governor Thedeen at 9:30GMT / 10:30CET before four panels. The first is due to begin at 10:00GMT / 11:00CET and sees BOE's Bailey, BOJ's Kuroda, BOC's Macklem and ECB's Schnabel headline. The second will be less of interest to markets as it is on CBDCs. The third beginning at 14:00GMT / 15:00CET will see Fed's Powell, Bundesbank's Buch, former BOE Governor King and Harvard's Rogoff. While the final will see ECB's Knot and de Cos alongside former BOE MPC members Posen and Forbes. There will then be concluding remarks from former Riksbank Governor Ingves.
  • It's going to be a hugely heavy day for sovereign issuance today with syndications from Belgium, Italy and Latvia as well as auctions from the US, UK, Netherlands, Austria and Germany.
