Yellen-I Do Not Seek To Decouple Economies

Speaking at Johns Hopkins University, Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen speaks on China relations and national security. Says that US-China relations are clearly at a 'tense moment', and that the two countries should be able to frankly discuss difficult issues. Yellen: Healthy economic competition between US and China is only sustainable if fair. She says that she does not seek to decouple the US and Chinese economies.

  • Yellen: China's 'no limits' partnership and support for Russia is a worrisome indication that it is not serious about ending the war in Ukraine...US will make clear that consequences of any violations of sanctions on Russia by Chinese companies would be severe.
