ENERGY: US Cooling Demand Seen 14 CDD Above Normal This Week

US cooling demand for the week ending Oct. 12 is forecast to be 14 cooling degree days (CDD) above the long-term normal, according to Bloomberg, citing NOAA.
- The regions with the largest deviation from the normal are the W S Central, 49 CDD above average Pacific, 34 CDD above average, and Mountain, 24 CDD above average,
- In terms of states with the greatest deviations, Texas is forecast to be 57 CDD above average, followed by Nebraska at +50 CDD above normal and Arizona at +48 CDD above average.
- This week’s total forecast for CDD is 29, compared to a normal of 15 and down from the actual figure of 34 from last week.
- During the week to Oct. 5, the US was 13 CDD above normal.
- Arizona remained the state with the highest total CDD at 124 CDD, 56 above normal.
