FCC at Pernis Refinery to Halt at End of This Week

Shell plans to halt the main FCC gasoline unit at the 404kb/d Pernis refinery in Rotterdam at the end of this week, according to a Bloomberg source.

  • The fluid catalytic cracker will be taken offline this weekend followed by the refinery treating and alkylation plant (RTA) a week later.
  • The FCC halt to install a new reactor was expected in this upcoming maintenance period at the refinery which is expected to last until mid-April. Shell hasn’t given specific timings for unit outages during the works.
