German Gas Output For Power Generation Rose 66.6% YoY in October

German natural gas output for power generation in October rose by 66.6% on the year, driven by slightly lower renewables output this year, an increase in demand and the halt to nuclear-fired generation as of April this year, Fraunhofer ISE data showed.

  • Natural gas output for power generation stood at 7.258GW in October, down by 9.17% from September levels, but up by 66.58% year on year.
  • Combined onshore and offshore wind and solar output stood at 13.75GW last month, compared with 14.87GW for the same month last year.
  • Total German net power generation rose to 42.48GW in October, up from 36.99GW in September, up from 41.24GW in October 2022.
