Manufacturing PMI Rises to 50.5 in October

HUNGARY
  • Hungary's manufacturing PMI rose to 50.5 in October from 47.4 in September, according to Halpim, marking the first above-50 reading since May. Among the sub-indices, the new orders index rose over the 50-point mark. The production volume index also increased and was over 50.
  • Meanwhile, Hungary's final trade surplus crossed at EUR664.54m (Prelim: +EUR708.19m) in August, according to the Central Statistical Office. Imports fell 0.6% m/m while exports rose 0.3%.
  • There are no data releases on the docket for the remainder of the week. Prime Minister Orban will meet Kazakhstan President Tokayev ahead of a Turkic Council summit on Friday.
