MNI BRIEF: BOJ Kuroda Rules Out Tighter Policy-Mainichi

TOKYO (MNI)

Bank of Japan Governor Haruhiko Kuroda said it is unlikely that the central bank will exit easy policy or move toward tightening, the Mainichi Shimbun reported on Thursday.

“Corporate goods prices rose as energy price rose temporarily. But the possibility is very small that consumer price rise sharply. There is no (BOJ) board member who expects Japan’s CPI to rise to 2% in fiscal 2022 and 2023,” Kuroda said in an interview with the newspaper.
