MNI BRIEF: Fed Nominees' Senate Hearing In Early Feb. - Brown

WASHINGTON (MNI)

Senate Banking Committee Chairman Sherrod Brown said Tuesday he expects President Joe Biden's three nominees for the Federal Reserve Board to be given a confirmation hearing in about two weeks and hopes for a quick vote after that in the full Senate.

"We look to do the three of them together in early February" he told reporters on a conference call, referring to nominees Sarah Bloom Raskin, Lisa Cook, and Philip Jefferson. Those three nominations should be able to move to the Senate along with Jerome Powell and Lael Brainard, he said.

"We will bring all five of them to a vote in Committee as quickly as possible," he said. "I've already spoken to [Senate Majority] Leader Schumer, and we're working with floor staff to get all five of these nominations to the floor as quickly as possible."
