Prayuth Intends To Serve Full Term

Spot USD/THB broke out of a bear channel and surged through its 50-DMA on Wednesday, closing above that moving average for the first time since Nov 5. The rate last sits +0.018 at THB33.350.

  • A break above Oct 18 high of THB33.488 would allow bulls to set their sights on Oct 6 high of THB33.990. On the flip side, bears would be pleased by a fall through the 100-DMA at THB33.048 towards Nov 18 low of THB32.565.
  • PM Prayuth told reporters that he intends to stay on in office through the end of his four-year term which expires in March 2023.
  • Elsewhere, Dep PM Wissanu said that revising two organic laws governing Thailand's electoral system could be passed by July 2022.
