CHINA: The China Banking Regulator Commission issued draft guidelines on Friday
covering the management of interest rate risks of commercial banks. As China is
completing market-oriented interest rate reforms, commercial banks need to
improve their "relevant capacity," the regulator said. The guidelines detail
requirements of interest rate risk management, including strict assessments of
each bank's risks and stress tests for potential risks. The guidelines will take
effect on Jan. 1, 2019.
