'Windsor Framework’ Set To Pass As Eurosceptic CON MPs Voice Approval

The passage of the 'Windsor framework' to update the Northern Ireland protocol through the UK parliament looks set to proceed after a broadly positive reception from Conservative eurosceptic MPs in the European Research Group (ERG) and the centre-right press. The deal, announced on 27 Feb by Sunak and European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, was already likely to pass given that opposition centre-left Labour Party leader Sir Keir Starmer had indicated that he would instruct his MPs to back a new deal.
