MNI BRIEF: Japan October Jobless Rate Falls To 2.7%

Japan's average unemployment rate stood at a seasonally adjusted 2.7% in October, data released by the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications on Tuesday showed.

The data showed that the labor market continues to be protected by the government’s Employment Adjustment Subsidy, which is set to expire in March 2022.

The job-to-applicant ratio, a leading indicator of the employment market, stood at 1.15 in October for the first drop in two months, according to data released by the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare.
